The strong northerly flow will persist, but the air masses will become slightly drier.

In the afternoon it will be cloudy, with a cold and at times gusty north wind. There will still be a few snow showers, particularly along the main Alpine ridge.

Strong northerly winds. Along the border with Austria, there will initially be a few snow showers, whilst further south the sun will make an appearance from time to time.

Mountain weather today:

Cold and partly stormy north wind. As the day progresses, the snowfall will be confined to the main Alpine ridge. Heaviest snowfall between the Brenner Pass and the Staller Sattel.

There will still be some snow showers in the mountains along the border ridge. Elsewhere, the weather will be sunny at times. Northerly winds will ease, although they will remain strong.

Weather development

Saturday will bring sunny conditions. The gusty northerly foehn wind will be weaker. On Sunday, cloud cover will increase again over the main Alpine ridge, whilst further south there will be a mix of sun and clouds. The Föhn conditions will persist. Monday will be changeable in the northern parts of the region, with plenty of cloud and a few showers. Further south, the weather will be partly sunny. On Tuesday still cloudy in the northern parts of the region, quite sunny in the south.
